Ohio Federation of Republican Women Endorses
Ohio Statewide Republican Candidates endorsed by GOP Women

COLUMBUS, OHIO  – The Board of Directors of the Ohio Federation of Republican Women (OFRW) has voted to endorse the statewide Republican candidates who will be appearing on Ohio’s November 6, 2018 general election ballot.

The Ohio Federation of Republican Women endorse the following; Jim Renacci for U.S. Senator, Mike DeWine & Jon Husted for Governor/Lt Governor, Dave Yost for Attorney General, Keith Faber for Auditor of State, Frank LaRose for Secretary of State, Robert Sprague for Treasurer, Mary DeGenaro for Ohio Supreme Court, Craig Baldwin for Ohio Supreme Court.

Jim Renacci, has the right experience to put Ohio first, born and raised in Monongahela, Pennsylvania. Renacci earned a degree in business administration from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and became a Certified Public Accountant and financial advisor. Renacci is an experienced business owner who has successfully created over 1,500 jobs and employed over 3,000 people across Ohio. Renacci was elected U.S. Representative for Ohio's 16th congressional district in 2010, previously serving as city council president and two terms as Mayor of Wadsworth, Ohio. Dedicated family man and entrepreneur, Renacci knows what it’s like to put in each day’s hard work, while being fiscally responsible and helping those that depend on your leadership. Jim Renacci with proven experience will put Ohio first.

Mike DeWine currently serves as Ohio’s Attorney General and is the Republican candidate for Ohio’s Governor.  Family is at the core of everything Mike DeWine does, and that’s why he has devoted his life to fighting for Ohio’s families. Born in Springfield, Ohio, but grew up in neighboring Yellow Springs, Ohio. DeWine earned his Bachelor of Science degree in education from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio in 1969 and a Juris Doctor from Ohio Northern University College of Law in 1972. Each day, his office deals with some of the largest barriers our state is facing: drugs, crime, and kids who are growing up in fragmented families. Mike has taken action and has made a real difference in people’s lives because he believes that public service is a public trust.  Attorney General DeWine has a long and distinguished career in public service, focusing on protecting Ohio children and families. DeWine served as Greene County Prosecuting Attorney, in the Ohio State Senate, in the United States House of Representatives, as Ohio Lieutenant Governor, and in the United States Senate.

Jon Husted currently serves as Ohio’s Secretary of State and is a conservative Republican candidate for Lieutenant Governor of Ohio. He describes himself as a Christian, an American, a Conservative, and a Republican–in that order. Elected Secretary of State in 2010. Prior to beginning in public service, Jon worked with the Dayton-Area Chamber of Commerce and served as its Vice President for Economic Development. He was later elected to the Ohio House of Representatives where his Republican colleagues twice selected him to serve as Speaker of the House. Husted graduated from Montpelier High School and earned both his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees from the University of Dayton (UD). Husted is the only Ohio statewide elected official to have ever earned an A+ rating from the National Rifle Association (NRA). As House Speaker, he spearheaded the passage of comprehensive reform to Ohio’s concealed carry laws in order to protect law-abiding gun owners and put criminals on notice that their victims may not be defenseless. After the bill was vetoed, Jon stood up to the governor – of his own party – and courageously led the House’s vote to override the veto

Keith Faber is running for Ohio’s Auditor of State.  Faber is a native of Celina and has been serving the residents of Ohio in the Ohio House of Representatives(R-84) and as Ohio Senate President. He earned his Juris Doctorate from The Ohio State University.  Representative Faber leads with the goal of making Ohio the best place to live, work and raise a family – focusing on creating jobs, promoting economic growth and stability, streamlining government, cutting taxes, and investing in health and education.

LaRose is running for Ohio’s Secretary of State. He served in the U. S. Army’s 101st Airborne and the U.S. Special Forces as a Green Beret.  During his decade in uniform around the globe,  he achieved the rank of Sergeant First Class and received numerous commendations and honors, including the Bronze Star.  LaRose is from Hudson, Ohio and graduated from The Ohio State University. Most recently LaRose has been serving in the Ohio Senate (R-27), helping cut regulations on small businesses.

Yost is running for Ohio’s Attorney General. He has spent his life looking for truth and fighting for justice. Yost served as the prosecutor for Delaware County, where he won convictions against the county’s largest drug ring, and successfully prosecuted Delaware’s first ever capital murder case.  His work as Auditor of State has led to criminal convictions for 140 corrupt public officials, uncovering close to $30 million in Medicaid fraud and found more than $220 million in efficiency savings for government.

Robert Sprague is running for Treasurer of State and will bring the type of ethical, innovative, problem-solving leadership to the office that Ohioans deserve. Sprague has a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Duke University and an MBA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Before becoming a Representative he served as auditor and treasurer for Findlay, Ohio, and served as a management consultant for Ernst and Young. In the Ohio House of Representatives, Robert led the effort to combat our state’s deadly opioid epidemic by working with law enforcement, community leaders and doctors to prevent prescription drug diversion, curb overdose deaths and improve our treatments systems.  Robert voted for $5 billion in tax cuts, eliminated an $8 billion budget deficit and ended numerous rules and regulations cramping job creation. Under Robert’s leadership, Ohio has created 450,000 new jobs and counting, but he knows there is more work to be done to ensure a strong financial future for our families. Dedicated to Ohio’s future, Sprague’s proven experience will bring more fiscal responsibility to Ohio.

Justice DeGenaro was recently appointed as the 159th member of the Ohio Supreme Court and is seeking re-election. She previously served 17 years on Ohio’s Seventh District Court of Appeals. She has also served as adjunct professor of Political Science at Youngstown State University and as a member of the Poland Village Council. DeGenaro earned her law degree from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law and was admitted to practice in the federal courts, including the U.S. Supreme Court and the Sixth Circuit, U.S. Court of Appeals.

Judge Baldwin is running for  a seat on the Ohio Supreme Court. He currently sits on Ohio’s Fifth District Court of Appeals. Baldwin received his law degree from Capital University and served in private practice before beginning his service on the Bench with the Domestic Relations Division of the Licking County Court of Common Pleas.  Judge Baldwin has served by assignment on the Ohio Supreme Court. He has served with the Ohio Supreme Court’s Task Force on the Funding of Ohio Courts.
